I don't really have any thoughts on whether this amounts to good or bad use of taxpayer money, but this all adds up to a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the US national budget

As someone who hails from Michigan's snow belt, I miss the lack of it in metro Detroit. Gotta get those snow walks when you can.
