It's always a pleasure to visit Nymans and the autumn colours were looking great in the Sussex sunshine this morning

A bright and #bluesky day (but always windy) at Cissbury Ring high above Worthing. Like a lot of the #SouthDowns it is sad to see the widespread dead ash trees

Well done to Billingshurst local history society and the community partnership for celebrating #railway200 locally. A great leaflet with old photos etc reminds you what history the Arun Valley line has since it opened in 1859 #ukrailway

Had to be done. The new #railclock at London Bridge. It's big and clocky in a busy place
The new rail clock above the concourse at London Bridge station. The circular black clock has two red train lines around the edge of the circle and an arrow goes round each line, one clockwise and the other anticlockwise. At the top and bottom they meet up to form the double arrow rail symbol. The arrows pause for 1 second when they get to the top

We popped down to Shoreham-by-Sea this morning. Always lovely, if a bit breezy today but that was good for the Rampion wind farm which looks a lot closer than 8 miles out. I always like the local heroes sculpture by the Adur Ferry Bridge - this one is a local lifeboat volunteer
In 2015 a crash at the Shoreham Airshow killed 11 people who were on the nearby A27. This memorial is on the river bank with a silver arch for each of the victims, all slightly different and a view through to the old toll bridge The Local Heroes art work is by the end of the Adur Ferry Bridge. There are 3 figures cut out of a sheet metal. This is Peter Huxtable MBE. According to the nearby helpful sign, he "devoted 43 years to the RNLI as a volunteer on the Shoreham Lifeboat. During his long service he helped save 449 lives at sea. He was coxswain for 20 years and received two awards for gallantry. In 2005 he was awarded an MBE for his services to the RNLI" The Coastway railway line crosses the Adur on the Shoreham railway bridge. It is a busy section of line with frequent Southern Railway electrostar trains crossing over, like this one The Rampion wind farm is 8 miles off the south coast with 116 turbines. Shame National Highways aren't on bluesky. Good to see the speed advice for 2 out of the 4 lanes on the M25 but what happens in the other lanes? Surely someone should check that these signs work #grumpysky

Always nice to visit @suffolkwildlife.bsky.social Lackford Lakes but having arrived in our EV it was disappointing to find the charging point decommissioned. Normally we count on a bit of destination charging to help with the trip home
Plug in Suffolk charging point for electric vehicles with a road cone in front to prevent it being used owing to it being faulty A small sailing boat on the lake viewed through some greenery

Lots of red kite action in the fresh breeze on the South Downs Way this morning at Chantry Hill. Also linnets amongst the hawthorn berries #birds
