Is it a public transit trip if it doesn't include a BC Ferry?
I saw the Cole Starnes supportive housing from the highway the last time I drove through Abbotsford. Wedged between the highway and train tracks, just above the search and rescue. 17 minute walk to the Walmart pictured.

Are you a tenant in BC that has either: 1) Had to move due to your building being redeveloped, or 2) Currently in the process of having the building you live in redeveloped, and will have to move when it does?

In my Master of Community Planning design class at VIU we redesigned the lower VIU parking lot with a mixed-use development, with buildings up to 12 storeys and ~30 percent open public space. We focused on connecting the site better to the university, as there is little current connectivity.

This is a horrible use of space, and it's zoned for dense mixed-use development with 200 units/hectare. Why not?

You can see them better in this image. These are all flexible bollards, but you would never know unless you touch one. Who would want to drive over one of those? Those flimsy skinny ones are basically asking to be driven over

In Victoria, BC this would likely have a concrete barrier, but in lots of places there are still flexi posts. However, the ones used look like solid metal posts instead of these visibly flexible ones. Concrete still matters, but you can have better plastic bollards too

In the engagement for the OCP, residents slightly preferred (52% to 48%) the "flat city" land use option of allowing 6-storey buildings throughout the urban fabric. Instead, staff have chosen the other option of 4-storey throughout, and 6-storey only around villages and transit

Tonight council is considering Victoria's OCP Update Draft, and I had some thoughts on what's included.
