There is a sense in which this is a surprise. Trump has always been envious of Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize and wants one badly. He wants to surpass Obama’s record. Now he has blown any chance he had of getting one.

I disagree. While his own party still believes that they are happening we can assume that they are happening. Ted Cruz is nervous & wants to vote against Trump tariffs. The GOP candidates will only feel safe when they know there will be no election. Today they are scared. Elections are coming.

Look in principal I agree with you, Janine, A O C and other ethnic members of the Dems agree with you. As it happens my wife is black. But to win the White House you need the votes of Independents and those with no allegiance. Some of those may not be so open minded and prepared to vote for them.

No it wouldn’t. I really Jasmine Crockett and making her VP would obligate the Dems to put a black woman on the ticket. In theory great. Reality terrible idea. Parts of America will never vote for a woman to be president & especially not a black woman. Sound racist? They are.

The buyer will pay the tariffs when purchasing from the manufacturer and get the money when the price increases and we buy goods in the store. Tariffs are bad for business because they reduce consumer spending power so we buy less.

No! That’s not how tariffs work. Trump doesn’t understand them & neither do you if you believe that. Any tariff he imposes will be paid for by the American consumer, the buyer of the goods, not the foreign seller that Trump so badly wants to hurt.

Small point, all his Tony Benn called himself a socialist. He renounced his hereditary title, Viscount Stansgate, so that he could he could become an MP rather sit in the House of Lords. Despite all that Tony Benn was the establishment.
