Are we still arguing about Covid in 2026? Lmao

Wasn’t Newsom the first elected official to officiate gay marriages back in like 2003? I still think he has a sleazebag vibe (although obviously I would vote for him if he gets the nom) but he hardly seems anti LGBT

There are many villains in this story. I actually place more blame at the feet of Bundy and McNamara because they knew that escalating with ground troops would not win the war, yet went along with it anyway. The whole thing could have been avoided had those two men had an ounce of courage in 1964.

I’m not too proud to reuse this

He has already had Crockett on the show. This is just shameless ass covering trying to avoid a Kimmel-esque boycott like Disney was facing.

If only the government had an agency who could heal the sick, feed the hungry, and care for the poor…

I agree they’re worried about Texas, but I think more broadly Talarico worries them because their coalition is dependent on evangelicals who have been led to believe the Gospel of Matthew isn’t important. Talarico can speak their language and remind them what they’re supposed to think is important.

Yeah, we kind of overlook how prejudiced the Poles are just because of how pro-US/anti-Russia they are. They’re pretty bad on LGBT as well.
February 16, 2026 at 11:44 PM
A lot of that going on lately

What’s know as the extremely un-coveted “crybaby demographic”
February 16, 2026 at 9:57 PM
That’s fine to say about the primary, but anyone saying they wouldn’t vote for *literally any Dem running* in the general just because they didn’t get their way is the problem.
February 16, 2026 at 9:54 PM
He hasn’t even declared yet, let alone laid out a platform, let alone participated in a debate, let alone secured the nomination. This is completely delusional.
February 16, 2026 at 9:48 PM
If you’re trying to “help” by promising to not vote D if you don’t get your way, you’re not helping. Voice your opinion, vote for the candidate you prefer, but be ready to vote for whomever wins the nomination in November. Anything short of that is harmful.
February 16, 2026 at 8:41 PM
1) I agree, but he’s a major candidate and has a decent chance of becoming the nominee

2) those voters can voice their displeasure up until that point where they say they will not vote for him in the general. That is 100% detrimental to restoring democracy and holding fascists accountable.
February 16, 2026 at 8:39 PM
And who determines which candidates are bad? You? What is the majority of the party disagrees and nominates them anyway?
February 16, 2026 at 8:23 PM
Admittedly this is more of an issue for Platner, who by all accounts is likely to be the Dem senate nominee. Publicly declaring him “disqualified” over a dumb tattoo he got when he was a drunk enlisted Marine is playing right into Susan Collins’ hands.
February 16, 2026 at 2:41 PM
They will pick the best candidate that the most factions can accept. Critical to winning is making sure no one prematurely sews discontent with the nominee. Criticize policy (or even vibe, which I would argue is Newsom’s bigger issue) all you want, but talk of not supporting the nominee is foolish.
February 16, 2026 at 2:39 PM
Criticize away, but “firing him into the sun”/declaring him (or any other D) “disqualified” just poisons the well, and in the event he did get the nomination, strengthens the hand of the GOP.
February 16, 2026 at 1:54 PM
This is a logical and effective strategy, so of course now I’m waiting for people on Bluesky to shit on it lol
February 16, 2026 at 12:21 PM
Again, no one is saying we shouldn’t have competitive primaries. But talk of launching any Dem into the sun, or calling any Dem “disqualified”, before voters have weighed in is counterproductive, because they may eventually require our support should they prevail. Poisoning the well helps the GOP.

It’s pretty boring tbh. I was a Rifle Platoon Leader for three months and spent the other nine months sitting in a tent making PowerPoints. My only tattoo is a quote from a Ghosts of Paul Revere song about the 20th Maine.
February 16, 2026 at 3:24 AM
If he runs and if his platform is actually lacking structural change, then that’s absolutely something voters should know. I’m simply saying dismissing people out of hand at this stage is counterproductive.
February 16, 2026 at 3:09 AM
This is some rare touch grass brain rot. Gavin, as sleazy as he is, would be a million times better than JD or Rubio or any of the cultists.
