I always thought it would be cool if they reappeared in the 2D games, and jumping wouldn’t defeat them. You’d have to grab and throw them like in Mario 2

I have so much more to gush about but damn it was just a pipe dream of a game come true.

Also the cutscenes, holy shit... It was movie quality stuff, so cinematic. I was on the edge of my seat towards the end. I'm just so happy they didn't go for the most basic story. I'm sure the next 3D Mario won't be like this but I'd love to be proven wrong

This might be this team's magnum opus. Felt like a culmination of everything we've seen in Sunshine/Galaxy/Odyssey. Like the game I've always wanted but never thought would exist.

And don't get me started on the beach layer. New contender for best tropical level for sure.
