Nice little QOL boost: no more fawning ChatGPT sycophancy at the beginning of every response. Bottom left button > Settings > Personalization > Base Style and Tone > Efficient. I don't need them spending untold water and electrons to kiss my ass.

TIL you can select some text in the iOS Wikipedia app and press Edit in the context menu. That will bring up the edit sheet and jump to the selected text. Makes editing on the go much easier! @depthsofwikipedia.bsky.social

I'm using olmOCR, an LLM _designed specifically for OCR_, to pull text frm scans. Usually, all good. But ~5% of reqs get a 1st response along these lines. "It's challenging to transcribe accurately…" You don't say! 🙄 Who knew our robot overlords wld be so work shy?

Is this wobble intentional? I think I’ve seen it on two different Microsoft products in the past few days.

“But they’re lying”
“falsely portraying”
“Cities are safer than ever. So why is Trump saying otherwise?”

SO many ways to present the facts without being stenographers to powerful lies. And yet the @washingtonpost.com can’t bring themselves to do it.

Every SINGLE time I have to interact w Windows, I am amazed at the absolute state of it. When I drag a file into an OPEN DIALOG, why wld I want to MOVE IT? Why can’t I drag an image onto a browser taskbar icon? How do I find the path to a running app? (Not in taskbar context menu!) And WTF is this??

Today, while idly drumming my fingers against the back of my phone, I discovered this accessibility feature. How neat is this?? Great work making it discoverable with the banner.

Really, WaPo? Does it “appear” that way? Might that be because it clearly DOES?

Thanks for this. I have a UK PayPal account, and I found it there as well, under "Interest-based marketing". Some GDPR difference, presumably. Had to disable both checkboxes.

I made a tool to find US census records for large cities by address, instead of by name! It's called Gannett, and it's free to use. Just put in an address and you'll get links directly to the right census pages. gannett.cc

@bikeatx.bsky.social I was enjoying the Shoal creek Blvd trail when I came upon this glaring safety issue. Northbound, cyclists can’t see cars using the right turn bypass, and they can’t see you. Why are there two trees here??

Not sure who to report this to, any idea?
