Super cycle up the Hambleden valley and up and over to Watlington. Then onto the bridleways to run fast to Nuffield and wiggle back to Caversham.

Up on to the downs west of Goring. Past Lothbury Hill and managed to find an old engine and the last mud in this part of the company.#cycling #gravel

Throughly enjoying another instalment of the Seeker historic detective novels - The Bear Pit The Lawrence Ingolby character is developing nicely. Mix Seeker and Lawrence and S.G. Maclean could have an ancestor of James Bond. Now there is an idea - Maclean to write new Bond.

Street Pastors tonight in a much busier Reading town centre. New areas to explore by the station and an old face on St Lawrence’s.

Forgot to post this earlier in the week. Usually there are the maritime equivalent of an ‘no entry’ sign moored in the Thames by the Palace of Westminster. So it was a surprise to see a survey boat so close to the hallowed halls.

Out with Reading #StreetPastors. And it is busier than expected. We’ve given out flip flops and water, and assisted several folks.

Robert Burns would love our Instagram aged
He filtered the world of his time.
He connected the human condition.
Of love: he knew 'it's complicated'.
His art: an algorithm encoding life.

Out for a ride in blue sky sunshine along the Southern Chilterns edge. Yet frost and even ice still lurk in the shadows of the highest lanes. You can see the trees despite the beautiful finished wood planking.

... and it fairly clearly says what you need to do in any given situation. It's not always easy to do what this book says, but I try.
And that's why it's easier for me than for many other people to do politics in Russia.

I've also been watching where I’ve been going when snowboarding. Taking a break in family-run mountain huts, I was struck by the religious imagery. Grandparent’s obituary notices are framed on the wall. Crucifixes and even icons occupy corners. Perhaps liminal thresholds are all around us?

No doubt in a much hotter, and sweatier basement, Isaiah Morris reflects on rave culture as a liminal threshold where hope, yup, that word again, might be found.
