Improving resident doctors' conditions would spread taxpayer benefit to patients more than further increasing salaries.

My recent experience of London nurses, neglecting to clean and feed elderly patients, suggests that focus should instead be on improving nurse pay and performance.

Naked eye observed Saturn (mag. +0.6) low in southeast last night, aided by New Moon. Happy Autumnal Equinox!
Saturn rules the night as it reaches opposition this weekend on Sunday, passing closest to the Earth at just over 8.5AU or 1.3 billion km distant, and rising opposite to the setting Sun. This marks the best time to view the ringed world, as it dominates the night sky from sunset until sunrise.
