I have passed this cottage many times before and the surrounding countryside is very familiar, but on each and every occasion I stop to admire the view.

A self - portrait by the fabulous artist and playwright John Byrne who sadly passed away in 2023. The pose was a very macho pose that I can only assume was very much tongue in cheek for Byrne (who wrote the Slab boys trilogy which explores working class life in Scotland). Scottish Portrait Gallery.
Painting is a self- portrait of Scottish artist John Byrne. It particularly focuses on his flowered jacket , which is very much on trend in the 1970’s.

Jemima Puddle Duck and Ludwig Von Drake make quite a handsome pair. 💜
Domestic mallard yellow / white feathers with an orange beak sat beside a mallard drake. It’s body mainly grey with a black rear and blue and purple on it’s wings. Both sat in a grassy area beside the River Itchen.

One of favourite pastimes stomping round a graveyard. This one has particularly stunning views with a hint of wood smoke and cow💩, all very atmospheric.
