A small part of the problem is that the bags are often labelled “compostable”. Yes in an industrial composter, less likely in a garden compost heap and certainly not in a hedgerow. When hedgerows are cut back, dozens of these bags are horribly revealed.

Were there Dipterists' meetings around 1984 at the Natural History Museum? I seem to remember making one or two meetings around then. I presume a precursor to the Dipterists' Forum.
