It is mostly “just working” all these years later. The problems k8s has are shared by all IaC tools. It’s kinda great for having one API layer and communication for multiple services on multiple nodes.

I think there's a lot of ways to tackle the problem, but you're right: anything that tries to boil the ocean is destined to fail... and it's probably really easy to accidentally do that!
