That's fascinating if not surprising. Of course he was right about it being massively more expensive and delayed. I'd be interested to know how the "optimistic" forecast compares to the actuals.

You don't have to take the child with you when you're registering, do you?

Sharing travel spots with people is what you do, absolutely. Even if most of them are parking lots 🚗

It's a shame. It was probably always a bit of a niche for London and a handful of other cities where population density is high enough and car ownership rates lower. Maybe it was never profitable. Maintenance and charging must have been more expensive than standard rental. It was v.useful though.

Tiramisu is delicious. Do not allow cranberry, apple or pumpkin anywhere near it.

Are we eating more of other things instead? Or just eating fewer calories (seems unlikely)?

Pitcairn seems more suitable

That is so shameful

Thank you for sharing another excellent journey. I've watched most of your journeys since Morecambe and this has been the most intrepid, I think. Good luck with your hiatus and I hope we see you and Mrs Turtle again in a while.

I've enjoyed watching your journey very much (thank you for sharing it). I've also alternated between being jealous and thankful that I'm not there. The train through the Pyrenees looked awesome. This bit less so.

He is going a lot further south than Crete

Thank you. I'll try that.

It's quite hard to keep track of the full journey because the BlueSky app makes it tricky to look back through a thread.

I recall you being in a hotel in the north of Sweden somewhere but you don't seem to have slept since. I hope you're OK.

Do you need a display of mosquitos? Are they not swarming all around you?

The Fortnum & Mason registration page is similar, but also includes "HRH"

LLMs have plenty of flaws but are very powerful tools. If you're not using them in some way for writing and structuring ideas then you're missing out.

Surely Engländer is the plural (English people). One English person is just Englander

Most of us are car drivers, but in town we should leave our car at home when taking short journeys. I have no problem at all with that advice

I was brought up in Gillingham and I can tell you that it's not (quite) as stupid a hypothesis as it might seem at first glance.

Anyway I enjoyed the video and you coped with the pronunciation pretty well. I'm quite tempted to take a trip to Beaulieu, Wymondham or Mousehole and take a video.

Data analyst and journalist can both be meaningful, rewarding jobs surely? Maybe each to their own. I've found the Ikigai model the best way to think about rewarding work, because it's based on the individual. japan.go.jp/kizuna/_src/79…

Are you avoiding all paid transport until your birthday?

It seems that it was named by the UK Met Office not the Irish one, a bit surprisingly www.met.ie/meteorologis...
Storm Éowyn has been named - Met Éireann - The Irish Meteorological Service
Met Éireann, the Irish National Meteorological Service, is the leading provider of weather information and related services for Ireland.

I've made this before. It looks remarkably like real ice cream. It tastes exactly like frozen banana, unsurprisingly.
