"like it or not" i don't like it, so i simply will not play their games or give them any money i suppose!
Like it or not, developers are experimenting with AI for their remasters and remakes - but can they ever be any good?

This one feels like required listening for everyone in the hobby. Rules are the part of games that gets glossed over, and as a result there's so much room for exploration and growth there.
Podcast! This episode is a companion to our ‘The Board Game With No Rules’ video that came out just yesterday, and delves into some of the leftover thoughts accrued after stewing on this subject for quite some time.

It’s a rules ramble! Enjoy!

As a rule, I try to fund something nice to say about every game I review. Galactic Renaissance is an overproduced nightmare that I dreaded even thinking about.

Initial impressions of Hutan: extremely similar to Aqua, but much less brain burn because I'm not trying to map out the hex wedges. Really impressed.

While most deckbuilders are about honing your deck to a hypereffecient millimeter-thick points engine, For Glory asks its players to throw a bunch of disparate cards into a sock and try to beat each other to death with the result.

You: that is the weirdest fucking thing I have ever heard. You never went to medical school. What a fraud.

Concede nothing, repeat nothing. Don’t expect to educate people repeating eugenicist bullshit.

For reference:
Procedural generation is shuffling a deck and dealing from it.

genAI is feeding every card deck you can find, including ones not for the game, into a wood chipper, slapping a handful of the bits on some glue, and pretending its a playable hand.
I need game devs and gamers alike to understand that procedural generation is not genAI.

Gonna repeat this one more time for the people in the back: if a game requires house rules to be worth playing, it's a flawed product. You've already paid for a luxury; why are you letting the publisher off the hook? Wild when I get responses citing house rules about my negative reviews.

Been really impressed by Creature Caravan so far. Winds up in that space where it's a great filler game for a hobby group but is still thoroughly playable by non-gaming family members.

The thing about AI is that it’s that episode of the office where Michael listens to every step his GPS tells him even as he sees that he’s driving into a lake except the gps is AI bros and Michael is every ceo of every industry for some reason

Capstone media rep told me Pagan Organized Play is on its way. Means I'm going to start fiddling with deckbuilding, probably with some form of follow-up article on my takeaways. Either way, I'm hype since I loved my time with the core box.

Impressed by my first game of Pagan. Feels like they took the rebel base mechanic from Rebellion and made an LCG out of it. Looking forward to poking around in its space.

At least MAGA's night of the long knives is already happening. Everybody and their mom warned marginalized MAGA that the movement is fascist. Now that they won, the white cishets are telling them they're not welcome.

Ok, setting aside all the other ghoulish shit that's been promised with Trump 2.0, if Medicaid gets eliminated, simply keeping up with the medical expense of keeping me alive would cost an entire part-time job's pay. I'm so fuckin done with America. This country isn't worth killing myself over.

"He was just some guy we had on stage while people were coming in, Trump didn't talk until hours later" is the weakest shit. Sorry, if the opening act is a bunch of skinheads with stars & bars guitars and swastika tats, that says a lot about the headliner.
