My blocks are sometimes just feed curation not criticism.
I'll roll Smoke outside real quick before I get back into the forklift to roll Stack.

Haha yeah it does!!

Though I kinda fibbed a bit actually. The stuff I wrote was actually based on The Scorpion King which isn't quite the same thing.

I do have drafts someplace in my Google drive for actual Mummy inspired ttrpg stuff, but nothing substantial... Yet.

This has strayed wildly far from osr, but whatever! Just thinking out loud.

Mechanically, perhaps you can crash out a certain number of times before your character becomes unplayable. But every time it happens your breakdown also smashes into your companions. It's a bad situation that can cascade quickly. And if that last one hits, you become a villain, probably?

Maybe you gain power through choosing to care about things that are under threat (who cares if you care about something safe). You pick stuff and give it to the GM to attack. They're your hit points and your power source. When they get obliterated you take damage, or pour it into your baggage.

Maybe it could be called
Moon Prism Crash Out

Or

Moon Prism Wake Up (screaming)

Ooh, yes, like this! This is very much the kind of thing I'm thinking of.

I like the idea that your character has an emotional baggage pool. When you're pushing hard in difficult moments you can dump your excess physical and emotional damage there so you don't suffer. Every time you do there's a risk that you crash out and bad things happen.

Animorphs comes to mind. Child soldiers becoming permanently broken while they save the world.

I had to step away a while back. I thought it was DAMN COOL, but also holy smokes. It's a real black hole for my time and attention. My brain is not well equipped to regulate that level of potential engagement.
