Let’s appreciate that many MOCs recognize that protecting the health and safety of workers in the energy sector, and their communities, is *not* a political issue. It is *not* an area for indiscriminate budget slashing. It is plain decency. Thanks to @repgaramendi.bsky.social for leading the effort

Hello my friend Alice Ann, Just saw your b-day wishes now, 5/26. I’m mostly AOL from social media. But now I have a Bluesky friend—you — and have Followed you. Seems both our intimacies & our politics align.

Hats off to those brave Republicans who are demanding that Congress preserve IRA benefits to bring thousands of new jobs to their constituents. Economy beats ideology every time. @cclalameda.bsky.social

Kudos to those Republicans who understand that economics beats ideology
every time. Preserve IRA incentives for more prosperous local economies and a more competitive US in world markets.

The best way to build the political will necessary to enact effective climate policy is to join a nonpartisan organization solely focused
on that. Citizens Climate Lobby, 200,000+ members strong, is my pick. Don’t @citizenslobbyca.bsky.social citizensclimatelobby.org/about-ccl/

Capturing carbon to reduce atmospheric CO2 is like jumping over the fence when the gate is open. We
all know there’s a cheaper, easier, faster way: put an economy-wide tax on carbon.

Another story to watch: will congestion pricing in Manhattan start on Jan 6? It
will generate billions for public transit, incentivize alternative transportation. It’s carbon pricing by another name. Can it withstand court challenges?
