Last week Sunday night dinner. First night in the house in Colleruta. Ripon made Chicken Cacciatore, with polenta. Enjoyed with a bottle of red from our adjoining vineyard.

Im back in the UK now, with a rather short Italian haircut. This was taken a couple of days ago, outside the barber in Sora, fresh from his razor.
Italy was great. As ever. And especially the food of course. But it’s always good to be back home!

At our house in Italy this week.
After a lovely weekend in Rome we went to our house in Colleruta, southern Italy where I spent most of the time indoors, working, until leaving back to UK this morning . But I was lucky to see a couple of days of sun, & the great views from & around our house.

The Botanical Garden of Rome
Visited these beautiful gardens on our first (glorious sunny) day in Rome, Friday. Not far from our apartment in Trastevere, it was very tranquil. I especially liked the way they mixed modern art banners with the plants in one of the greenhouses.

The apartment we stayed in at Trastevere was well stocked with art books - including this beautiful one. Whenever I go to Italy I get inspired by the art around & often pick up a pencil or paint brush. I couldn’t help trying to draw David again this time.
