I can only imagine the Gen 1 and Gen 2 R1 models are already building the foundation of the A+ database. They already take in a ton of information, even if they themselves aren't capable of full autonomy. With each new generation of vehicle they add to the detail.

There are always expensive options and more affordable options on the market. If you're asking this question, then you aren't the demographic for the Rivian R1 models, and that's okay.

The reasons they didn't make it last time are public record. They've learned and adapted, and are on a much more successful track this time around, with a better product iteration.

As a shareholder I couldn't disagree with you more. The fact that people are used to a platform does not mean a manufacturer should give in to it. As RJ has explained, they lose cohesiveness in their software stack using Carplay or similar. The potential benefit outweighs the loss.

The Aptera is already street legal. Any impact would likely be in the way of increased competition from tiny vehicles, but likely not any as efficient (or solar powered).

I think you mean Rivian R3. The R2 is a midsize SUV. The R3 it's the hot hatch.

I find it perplexing that owners of older model vehicles are upset that they can't get some features of newer model vehicles added to their truck. OTA updates have spoiled folks.
The fact is that some updates are dependent upon newer vehicle architecture, and simply won't work on older models.
