I was stuck between featuring the Mandarin or Korean versions of Reflection, but chose Korean with a coin flip. I like both the Mandarin and Korean versions, but it would be Lee Suhyun's phrasing that puts Korean over the edge. She keeps things simple, but still befitting the grandeur of the song.

Carol Channing is a treasure in general, but this song is a recent favorite that has given me hope as I age. The overall message of the song is that it's not too late to live it up, even if your best years are supposedly behind you. I hope that I can keep on keeping on for many more years.

I was torturing myself over whether to feature A Million Miles Away or Lend Me Your Voice, but I picked the latter because when the scene started playing as I was watching the film with friends, I started singing along as if I knew it all my life despite never hearing it before. It felt magical.

I really love the entirety of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, but this song in particular is the best of them all. It feels like ilomilo from her debut album, but more grown-up. I think I like dark things in general, but this one has the unique distinction of being both isolating and expansive at once.
