Reminds me of when I was in college in LA and showed up to class to find roughly half the class in attendance. I turned to the kid next to me and asked “where is everybody?” With a severe “you dummy” look, they replied, “it’s raining.”

Reminds me an ANC meeting years ago where a woman showed up to oppose renovating a school sports field near her house. She was upset at the noise a functional sports field would generate, when all she wanted was to sit in her back yard and have a glass of wine in “peace and quiet.”

Here’s another example. This parent is dropping their kid off at Two Rivers and parks (regularly) on the crosswalk. The crosswalk tons of other parents and kids are trying to use to safely get to school.

I don’t understand why we went from skinny to baggy and couldn’t at least pause for a couple fashion cycles inbetween.

The study said that was one factor and only in specific ways (e.g., RPSs or states with very high rooftop solar, like CA). They also cite high transmission costs, weather-related risk, and materials costs.

“the findings underscore the diverse set of price determinants”

Real love-hate thing for me, so hard to be objective. I’d say it’s entertaining in some ways but also far from great.

Such a critical infill connector. From wildly unsafe to really-quite-safe more or less overnight. Good work!
