2023 budget allocation is HALF what was spent over 5yrs of CDSS (2017-18 to 2021-22) $741.66M across ALL pillars (prevention; treatment; harm reduction; enforcement). Enforcement = more than all other pillars combined; drives need for harm reduction spending; takes away from prevention/treatment 👮

The mess & toxicity of the unregulated drug supply, driven by scheduling & enforcement. But spending $1.3B over 5yrs on border security+$200M for RCMP & a "FENTANYL czar", on top of Budget 2023 allocation to Canadian Drugs & Substances Strategy ($358.6M over 5rs) will fix it! Federal spending...1/2

Canada’s public safety minister said less than 1% of illegal immigration & less than 1% of #fentanyl entering the United States comes from #Canada yet Canada is spending $1.3 billion including two helicopters and 60 drones to increase “border security” due to Trump’s tariff threats. 🙄😡
