Potter, though, the school stuff was such an essential part of the story and the characters’ lives that it doesn’t work without it and that’s why it’s a problem to try to expand beyond that.

I feel like X-Men has done this right though. It was able to keep up with the times and people still like it because (at least in the comics and some of the cartoons) it evolved beyond the school setting into being more about the “found family against the world” aspect.

The Long Walk was such a surprise for me. I was honestly shocked by how good it was. Best dystopia movie I’ve seen in a hot minute.

Even as somebody who likes (maybe even would go as far as loves in a few cases) the Clone Wars show, I do get where he’s coming from in that intro and why some people who dislike the prequels still don’t vibe with it no matter how good it is. Don’t agree necessarily but I do understand.

The Big Lebowski might legit be one of the best movies ever made. It’s so absurd in such a specific way and that just does it for me.

It’s a very interesting experiment in what happens when someone has absolutely zero creative oversight of any kind and $200 million dollars at his disposable. It’s kind of perversely fascinating in that way.

I don’t hate Filoni but people were vilifying Kathleen Kennedy to a truly ridiculous degree and making her the bogeyman when most of the bad stuff that happened in the Star Wars brand as of late was purely circumstantial and not on her.

“Glup shitto” was always lazy armchair criticism that immediately got co-opted and misused by the most insufferable people in film discourse. The sooner we let that term die the better.

He’s a brilliant writer but he’s also insanely bitter. Initially I sympathized (because what happened with Watchmen was shady to be sure) but at this point, he’s doing it to himself. I’m sick to death of morons on here using his bitterness as a thought terminating cliche to dismiss an entire genre
