I haven’t taught yet, but am using anki cards for some studying. I’ve also thought they would make sense for teaching.

infrastructure cost vs training cost is not a great comparison. theirs is also probably less, seems like the efficiency gains are legit, but its like comparing running the subway in madrid to building a new subway in new york.

I think AI could be great for people, and am very upset by the over-claiming, hype, and secrecy. It’s a bummer :(

its really there aren’t enough where people want to live/where there are jobs. housing is cheap where homes are abundant and jobs are few

I mostly agree, but there are also lots of people working on AI that is focused especially on reducing cost. Theres a company that builds frames for houses offsite with AI and robots (and normal software too) — it’s hard to imagine this not expanding and helping people afford housing.

My roomates and I paid $3200 to broker we never even met - all he did was text us pictures the previous tenants sent him, and hand over a key. What he did was worth $20 at most.

Loved the open street today! It was such a good time. Would love more open streets more often.
