It's just an example of what low dopamine does. If you have add/adhd, a lot of your issues are around appropriate dopamine levels. Suffering from add/adhd/autism often leads to difficulty with communicating, thus more likely to be isolated and suffer from depression/anxiety and seek to self-medicate

Yes alcohol is functional at low doses for add/adhd, especially paired with caffeine, however people with adhd have poor impulse control and are incapable of self medicating as a group, though I am aware of many functional alcoholics. The hippie speedball is the legal remedy for adhd. Weed + coffee.

Aye, studied around psychopharmacology and abnormal psychology. Weed, mushroom, amphetamines/mdma/lsd, ketamine, etc are all normal ways most people self-medicate for attention deficit and spectrum differences. The problem is that while these are effective natural remedies, impulse regulation fails

Yep. Schizophrenia seems to be strongly tied to neurochemistry around dopamine. Basically anything that modulated dopamine will drive mental health issues in those with the genetics, physiology, and habits.
