The speed of the salmon’s return to the Klamath River is incredible, barely had the dams come down, and these fish were already back. Ecosystems are primed to explode with life the second we step out of the way.

During the 2015 #ParisAgreement, western nations, advocated for limiting global warming to below 2°C above pre-industrial levels. In contrast, numerous developing countries and small island states, which are particularly vulnerable to climate impacts, pushed for a 1.5°C limit. 1/2

#Hunting isn’t conservation, it’s the inversion of natural selection. While nature targets the weak, or less adaptive for removal, hunting disproportionately takes out the strongest and most genetically fit individuals which weakens the overall population.

#Conservation isn’t just about “saving nature”, it’s also about dismantling the systems of exploitation and colonization that have destroyed it.

Protecting biodiversity means confronting capitalism, because you can’t preserve life in a world driven by infinite growth and endless extraction.
