Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson - 6/5. JESUS. CHRIST. This takes the building from The Way of Kings and bumps it to 100. I've heard Oathbringer is better but I truly do not understand how that's going to be possible. Probably my favorite BrandoSando book to date. The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes - 4.5/5. Do you ever want to know what it would be like to have a character like Guillermo de la Cruz be a vampire AND an accountant? That's basically Fred. This book is super low stakes and humor abound. The Road by Cormac McCarthy - 3.5/5. I... guess I understand why people find this book so hard to read but the writing style is not my cup of tea. It felt like talking to someone who calls movies films. Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson - 5/5. A novella taking place between books 2 and 3 of Stormlight Archive. I love Lift so much. I can't wait to see her character expanded on in future books (and even her whole POV book in SLA arc 2!).

The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne - 4/5. This was my first experience with a non-Sanderson Sanderlanche. I really liked the Norse adjacent setting. Familiar enough to not feel totally different but not so similar that it's just another Norse fantasy book. Sunbringer by Hannah Kaner - 4.5/5. I super enjoyed this. I think this expands on Godkiller and is so much better. Can't wait to read the finale in a few weeks. Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett - 5/5. WENDELL AND EMILY. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I'm so sad to see their story end but I am so happy that it ended the way it did. When Flowers Wilt by G.E. Masters - 4/5. This was a debut novel and I enjoyed it a lot. It was a super easy read. I finished it in ~24 hours. I enjoyed the old Greek mythology tie-in.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller - 500/5. A gay retelling of Achilles told from the perspective of Patroclus? Sign me up forever. I knew what I was getting myself into but I would be lying if I said that it was any easier to read. Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao - 3.75/5. Feminine rage meets furries fighting with DBZ-style fights, partially written because Zhao was "disappointed in the way DARLING in the FRANXX went in the later episodes." Great read, despite the politics being very on the nose. The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz - 5/5. Such a cute little story of an outlawed Robot (fully sentient AI) that is running a tea shop who meets a tinkerer/engineer that wants to fix her and their adventures together. P*rnageddon by Matt Micheli - 2.5/5. Tied for my lowest rated book, probably ever, lol. I thought it was just okay. It takes the very typical comedy horror "Oh no, the Antichrist is here! The end times are nigh!" and makes the Antichrist a p*rn star. I had hoped it was a bit more on the splatterpunk side and not so much of the "horror".

This Is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone and Amal El-Mohtar - 6/5. Scifi sapphic time travel romance. Beautiful written. The two authors voices are phenomenal in capturing the different characters POV. Sixth of the Dusk by Brandon Sanderson - 3.5/5. Short, sweet, limited magic? Weird words to say about BrandoSando. It’s only barely connected to the Cosmere at all. I enjoyed it. The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson - 5/5. Holy. Shit. Kaladin? Dalinar?? Shallan??? Szeth???? I cannot WAIT to read the rest of Stormlight. Bridge 4 for life. The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett - 3/5. It felt like Hitchhikers Guide meets Dungeons and Dragons. I’ve heard this is commonly people’s least favorite entry to Discworld so I look forward to the reading further into it.

Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman - 4/5. Comedy horror fantasy set in the Middle Ages during the initial outbreak of the Black Plague? Don't mind if I do. Highly recommend. Feels similar vibes to Good Omens and Little Evil. The Emperor's Soul by Brandon Sanderson - 1000/5. This is far and away my favorite novella/story I've probably ever read. I think everyone should read it. Elantris by Brandon Sanderson - 3.5/5. It was BrandoSando's first published work and it's age shows but I thought it was a great book and I look forward to the sequels over the next few years. Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson - 4/5. I truly enjoyed this. I know it's hit or miss but I'm really excited for the implications of this in the Stormlight series.
