my belief is that the jaws quadrilogy is the structure of the ideal marathon:
1) perfect, audience at max attention
2) much worse version of same movie, audience settles in
3) 3d gimmicks worth the price of admission, audience is Engaged
4) shark literally follows ellen to bahamas, audience is drunk

not that I expect much from the National Post, but it's infuriating to see widespread misinfo about park closures in BC. they are not "race-based" closures. access is temporarily limited to the rights-holding First Nations, not to all Indigenous people. this is just rage-baiting for racists.

The company replacing the balconies for my building left this on mine. It certainly wasn’t there before they ripped the wood out. No current occupants. Do they know I’m weird or did they just forget it?

I love how mad people are getting about ICBC removing the class 5 road test. Y’all know that even if you fail, you can still drive right? They don’t take away your existing license. Hahaha

I really should have focused on making the 10 jars of chili crisp I bought from Trader Joe’s in December last longer than 3 months if I’m attempting to not buy American.

The weirdest thing about Cane Toads: An Unnatural History was the number of songs about cane toads featured throughout the documentary. How does Australia have this many songs specifically written about an invasive toad?!

I chuckled, I was sad, and I cringed through a very uncomfortable implied hand job. The Brutalist had it all.

Nightbitch was one of my top 2024 reads and I wasn’t sure it could be turned into a film I would like, but if you cut off the last ten minutes of it you have yourself a success.
