So much of the arc of Donald Trump and Elon Musk is what happens when white collar crime isn’t taken seriously. They spent so much of their lives being shown—clearly—that they didn’t have to follow laws, that no jail would come, that by the time they overthrew the USG, they knew it wouldn’t matter.
