I think it's time to knock PURL on the head and accept that access to exquisite US systems and some production capacity will be lost but the trade off can be investing in capacity of genuine allies of Ukraine as well as supporting them more directly.

He thinks his Russian dressing joke is very funny I am sure. American's meanwhile stand by and basically agree with him or don't but put up with this (with the exception of 'campaigning by social media post' and having a nice day out at the park during summer aka 'No Kings').

Indeed. No matter how hard they try there is no satisfying the bloodlust of Muscovy. I imagine what actually happened was that they were forced to sit through another lecture of revisionist history from the genocidal bunker grandpa for 5 hours.

It's becoming.....confusing. The OBR should be disbanded. The Government should produce it's own FC, release the model and assumptions alongside the budget and let people decide whether the FC, assumptions and budget is reasonable (and even if the model is 'correct').

I think that's a fair qualification. Although it also begs another question related to Putin's particular ability to judge risk and understand the full range of uncertainty in possible outcomes attached to his decisions. His decision to invade Ukraine would seem to be a case in point.

Always interesting. Although I can't help feeling there is an unresolved dilemma and contradiction in your comment about Russia's (and Putin's) sense of the necessity for preemption...when I think you have previously dismissed the notion Putin and therefore Ru will strike at NATO next....
