I adored it back in the day! I can't even remember how many times I replayed it (and the sequel). The story was nothing groundbreaking but it was still so fun to me. But maybe being ahead of its time is what unfortunately tanked it back then. :(

My worry is usually that I don't sound young enough. I get passed up on a lot of teen/early 20's roles even though I'm pretty sure I don't sound THAT old? But I guess people want higher-pitched femme voices or something.

Sounds like they were just making excuses. :/ An employer should be excited that a prospective employee has the drive and the work ethic to create an entire show!
