Of course one of the factions is the Shogunate and Bushido with an undercurrent of 1930s and 40s Empire of Japan.
I'd bet the Capellan Confederation, led by house Liao, (including Sun-tzu Liao) with not drawing on as well known of references has MUCH better "excellent" representation in it.

The Combine feels like low hanging fruit in a game from the 80's where half the initial mechs were licensed from anime, the POV warriors are described in knight imagery, the standard form of government is LITERALLY neo-feudalism, and economies are based around mega-corps.

Good news: I know I HAVE some mech bits.
Bad news: where ARE they?

Props/blame on the wonderful lady at the FLGS that started paint and hang. She suggested witches tartan for the Northwind Highlanders lance when I mentioned I didn't have any plans for how to paint them while checking out.
