I think people would be surprised to know that even someone on the team recommending you doesn't really affect getting in. It's as fair as it can be to everyone, plus making sure there's a wide variety of content types and sizes, and keeping a slow steady pace with team size.

I know being denied does sting though. The best thing I can advise about it is not to worry too much. I try to get my recommend pile under 50, which is still double the number of slots before its added to the other reviews. Much more than half the people I pass won't get in that wave.

I don't look at size of the streamer. I'm also not a streamer. Nobody can get "in" with me with special favors, because until this moment, I was an invisible reviewer. These rumors come from people underestimating how many streamers there are, like 1000 every wave, and imagining other reasons.

I help with the applications. It's not a clique because I don't know 99% of the people before. The process isn't crazy. I look at your socials and your stream, and decide if you have a good attitude and take it seriously or not. Then that pile is scrambled w/ other reviewers, Whiskey picks 20-40.
