Northern Indiana Atheists reaffirms our solidarity with our immigrant neighbors, and our commitment to justice for undocumented residents. Some NIA members attended a rally on February 22nd in Goshen, IN to stand alongside young organizers and community members.

NIA, along with American Atheists, submitted testimony in opposition to SB0523, a bill that would, with minimal requirements, allow chaplains into public schools to serve in roles typically reserved for professionally qualified school counselors. Another busy Sunday at Our Lady of the Road! Food not Bombs SBN served roasted veggies, apple cinnamon cups, chili, mashed potatoes and squash soup. Supplies from Cultivate Food Rescue and Milford Food Bank go a long way to expand our offerings to guests who enjoyed everything on the menu.

We’re still out here. No matter who’s in political office, NIA continues our longstanding work on the ground, distributing food and resources to people in our community. We shared ingredients, cooked, and served with Food not Bombs SBN, and helped families with groceries. NorthernIndianaAtheists.com
