FB 7 & 8 years ago memories of meeting Zoe Ball on the train home after November RCVS council meetings. Zoe is always so friendly and down-to-earth. It looks like we now share a bond to pancreatic cancer awareness, Zoe through her Mum’s very sad passing and my wife, Colette as a 10 year survivor.

Excellent random edifice in a magical leafy lane. One day we must bring a wee table & chairs, some nibbles, a bottle of wine and have lunch here.

BCVA Congress, representing BSAVA. Terrific experience with great discussions & talks. Couldn't resist photo opportunity with the amazing student BCVA stewards. Representing 8 vet schools across UK, eager to get into agricultural practice, they're a credit to our veterinary education system #BCVA

I'm glad to see my impromptu pep talk to the Aberdeen football players other day at BSAVA Alba must have helped. The team won their first game of the season on the weekend, beating Dundee 4-0. You're welcome, lads ;-)

An emotional day, saying farewell to the magnificent Prof Max Murray & meeting up with good @sbohvm.gla.ac.uk friends and colleagues. Raised a glass of wine tonight while having a lovely meal with Colette at the ClockTower restaurant in Auchincruive, on the old Scottish Agricultural College estate

I really like this picture of the SRUC @srucnews.bsky.social graduation ceremony at Glasgow University @uofglasgow.bsky.social Bute Hall a couple of weeks ago. Colette and I are in the front row. The new Registered Veterinary Nurses are graduating before they take their professional declarations.

American tourist in our Cambridge hotel yesterday morning. I tried to hear if he was telling folk he was Vinz Clortho, keymaster of Gozer and that "Gozer the Traveler will come in one of the pre-chosen forms"

On a Sunday morning, a wee salute to the different roles, skills, and responsibilities taken on every day in our veterinary world; because in this line of work, we don’t just wear many hats…we can make them look good! :-D

I am over the moon to receive an honorary Fellowship yesterday from @srucnews.bsky.social , a marvelous organisation which impressively operates a coordinated approach to research, education and training across all rural economy & communities in Scotland and beyond. Colette and I had a lovely day.

than my original diagnosis and subsequent conversations suggested all those years ago. I am grateful for still being able to play a small part in our veterinary world. The dial always gets cranked up to eleven.

Three Vet buddies at BEVA Congress 6 years ago. It really was great craic. Simon was still the @britishvets.bsky.social BVA president at this point. Thinking about you, Simon.

A plaque honours victims, women and men, of the Peebles witch trials (c.1629), where the church aided in accusing and executing many, including 27 in 1629 and 41 in Peeblesshire overall. In March 2022, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon formally apologised for the witch hunt atrocities.

Heartbroken that St Mungo’s Church and the Cottage Theatre in Cumbernauld have both burned down. These iconic places shaped my childhood, from school days and farewells at St Mungo’s to drama, bands, including Chou Pahrot & MacFloyd - music and memories at the theatre. Huge losses for the community

I exhorted Colette to check out the Titanic exhibition while Bree and I wait outside with a coffee. I've seen it before. Dogs not allowed in. At least 12 dogs were on the fateful Titanic sailing. Three dogs survived, two Pomeranians and a Pekingese.

Every maniac on the bridge today was taking mad pictures with the clock in the background. Thought I need to get some of that action. Useful day, working with DEFRA as a representative of BSAVA, looking at a potential new Veterinary Surgeons Act. Some very good conversations were had.

It is interesting to occasionally come across a personal image that can subtly yield a sense of true self.

Doing some work just now and was wondering, who would win in a cage fight?

1) WW2 Tiger tank
2) Batman and Robin in the Batmobile
3) A large metal hollow frog
