We have our friends. It is quite scary times but people are all fighting in our own way. I love the trans community. I love the friends I have made. I try to spread positivity (when not circling the brink myself) and we should all look to support each other.

Our community is not a monolith. We don't all need to like or follow each other to make a difference. Having other trans people close to us is important, and we should reach out to others. We should share our thoughts with each other. Rely on each other...

Rifts can form within the community. Anger may grow, and people may drift apart but I firmly believe that if we all keep fighting in our own way. That still helps. We have people fighting legal battles for us. Journalists making their own effort to bring us accurate news on trans rights.

If anyone wants to steal what I say, they can. In fact I encourage it. If they want to write blogs, they can do that. If they're good at drawing, do that. If they want to gather sources into one document we can share. That's good too. If you need to take a step back for your own wellbeing... Do.

There's this notion that we each have to do everything to make a differencere is no one particular "right way". I think we all just need to play to our strengths and do what we can.

That doesn't mean they've won. Now more than ever, we need community. I know I am in the UK and not the US, but we have our transphobes here. We have Musk inteferring in our election process.

The thing is, I know I am catastrophising because a lot of these fears haven't come to pass... At least not yet. The arguments against us aren't new. But it seems the far right has extensive influence and money at the moment. They have momentum.

I'm scared that a lot of things are going to happen. I'm scared of being out in public. I'm tired of people being dismissive of these fears.

I try not to feel this way, as I know that us what the transphobes want but I can't handle it sometimes. We are stronger together and I do firmly believe that. And if we can still find joy and community, we are actively pushing back for that reason alone.
