Now that you mention it, yeah the placemat thing was supposedly fixed - It's been literal years of me checking for them before my Sims leave a restaurant - I don't think I can stop now 😂

Yeah, there seem to be something weird going on with dates and restaurants
I've noticed that if it's a restaurant that requires a certain attire, my Sims don't change into it, and then they won't get seated
If they so change and then get seated, the food never arrives 😒

I had trouble too - I think I found out that the thing has to be placed on the ground then changed - Not sure though, my brain is a bit foggy these days

Remember to check the build in buildmode for any of those little 'draw on placemat' thingies - If there are any left at the lot from last visit they cause all sorts of trouble 🖍️

SweetieWright has not updated since Growing Together afaik, but it's a pretty good save kept very maxis. Some families with stories, simple but good builds etc

That might be the best option though it would make me a bit sad since there are people I trust to do relevant [fun, informational and such] reposts - those would be filtered out as well
