Why be terrified? Just say you identified as a woman for the duration of the shit you took.

Excellent piece. Dishonest activists have been exploiting unclear law for at least a decade, so it's good the UKSC has clarified things. It should never have taken this long.

"trans women are women"

Nobody really believes this. And no, it is still illegal to discriminate against someone on the basis of gender reassignment. And no, there's no "systematic violence against trans women" except in your fevered imagination. They're one of the safest demographics.

No trans person lost any rights today. All that's happened is that "woman" is confirmed as meaning in law what 99% of the population thinks it means.

Rights clearly come into tension. Either women have a right to female-only spaces, or men wearing dresses have the right to invade them. You can only have one or the other.

"Critics of trans rights"? Aren't they just feminists? Why not just say that?

Transwomen are definitionally male, and it is magical thinking to believe otherwise.

And no I'm not confused. There is no justification for using the word "female" except for actual girls and women, not men pretending to be those things.

The minimum qualification to be a "trans woman" is to be male. An actual "transgender female" is a woman pretending to be a man.

No, this has been done to death. Males retain nearly all their advantage even with hormone reduction. The accumulated benefits (muscle strength, height, etc) don't go away when T is stopped.

And no SRS has ever happened. It's not a thing we have the technology for, even now.

There is absolutely no scientific basis to the idea that any person (or indeed mammal) can "change sex". Nor, for that matter, is there any evidence that males can significantly reduce their sporting advantage over females by hormone reduction.
