Something oddly refreshing about seeing Lynn Margulis' rejection of taxonomy based on 16S sequencing in 1998. We can do a lot of good, accurate work with assumptions we make and organisational schemes we adopt, but there is always value in scrutiny and not taking frameworks for granted.
