Agreed, that is the critical failure. Better management, and poss investment in existing stock. But no net additions. With CoE I would prefer they hand over land to other orgs. Lot of time, money and energy needed to stand up and org. from scratch.

This whole policy area sits squarely in the difficult convo pile. We can either have higher taxes and levels of immigration to allow us both to fund, and staff the hospitals and hospices necessary to meet demand. Or we can have lower taxes and no one to give your Gran dignity in death. Your choice.

I know which I would prefer. As with most contentious debates in this day and age, some of the commentary on assisted dying has been borderline hysterical. For the record my view will always be - your right to life does not supercede my ability to choose to end mine.
