I’m glad I stopped to take a picture here; the next pick ruptured the membrane.

And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Given this position, the program generates 17 tactics, each containing a Mate in N<5.
- Eight N=1
- Five N=2
- Three N=3
- One N=1

Each is, a priori, easier to find than the original mate. By studying them, I hope to scaffold understanding of deep mating patterns.

Given a position with mate, the program explores all possible continuations given optimal play from the active player. For each position in the game tree from that player's perspective, it creates a tactic from that position.

For instance, consider this position: White to move and mate in 5.

Spicebush Swallowtail — I’ve had the grace of their company this summer, and as thanks, today I am planting several stands of Spicebush. They’ve a very short reproductive cycle, so hopefully I will see many more starting next year.

Love the uncertainty embedding.

- ‘Could be’ is presumably conditioning on their model being right, which has an unassigned (-able?) credence.
- ‘90% chance’ is the model derived estimate.
