It sure would be sad if a huge torrent where to appear on all of the larger piracy networks

The least you can and should do i to verify that a given image has a source. Examine it. Who made it? Is it constructed from sensor data in deep space, or taken through a telescope on earth?

Given that deep astronomy involves processing of data instead of optical photography, there is (or will be) hard to definitely determine what levels of processing is being used, or if the image is "from space" at all.

Also, the stars are not on a single plane. Here is a video showing what it would look like to travel around the constellation.

Yes, you could say that. Constellations are a product of pareidolia and how the current night sky is looking. Stars move over large periods of time and the current constellations are therefor (in cosmological timescales) temporary.

I find it plausible that once Bluesky became a thing, the automated accounts were the first to start appearing. Given how they drive engagement and post frequently, they wilk probably have a great effect on how the content is pushed in feeds and to new users.

There are a multitude of sources in this thread. Is it equally powerful to ignore them?

Feels kinda good not being able to click or engage with that.

That is so cool! Makes me wonder what event created that specific patch in an atmosphere that otherwise seem so uniform.

Now I know you just want to be funny here and that's fine but don't forget that the nineties produced the Hubble telescope, the Cassini probe, the Mars Pathfinder (and Sojourner) and the Chandra telescope. These are monumental! 🔭🧪
