And there’s nothing quite like the feeling of sinking your forearm into orange pulp!

Yes, too right!
November 6, 2025 at 4:25 PM
Oh how lovely! Happy birthday!
November 6, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Yes, we’ve heard this from others too. Do you celebrate Bonfire Night?
November 6, 2025 at 1:38 PM
Yes, definitely. We think the result might’ve been different had we been able to survey younger people.

That’s a really good point. With Halloween often falling in half term, we wonder how much Halloween activity is actually related to entertaining children!
November 6, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Halloween as it stands now is certainly influenced by American culture, but Mischief Night, Guising and other events related to how we perform Halloween today has roots in England. People in England carved turnips, swedes and other root vegetables before pumpkins took hold, for example.

Quite possibly. We do wonder whether age is the underlying factor here - if our survey could’ve questioned young people (under 16s) then the result might’ve been different.

Now that’s impressive! And mind bending…
November 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM
Whoa! That’s intense! Do you still experience it today? If not, when do you think it eased?
November 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM
A huge thanks to Jonny Ford for the gorgeous illustrations and animation
November 4, 2025 at 2:53 PM
That’s so cool!
November 3, 2025 at 9:05 AM
Terrifying! Love them!
November 2, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Definitely more terrifying, somehow.
November 2, 2025 at 9:40 AM
How did the pumpkin cross go down with your mum?!
November 2, 2025 at 9:40 AM
Their little faces! 🥹
November 2, 2025 at 9:39 AM
Now they look the part. Were they tough to carve?
November 2, 2025 at 9:39 AM
Ahhh those eyes looking different ways! 🥹
