💪🏳️‍🌈 #PrideMonth

Harry Kane wore this armband four Prides ago, when England defeated Germany in a EURO 2020 Round of 16 tie.

The captain scored the second goal in a 2-0 win, heading home the goal that would seal progression to the quarters.

It is now part of our Game of our Lives display.

On this day in 1953, Blackpool lifted the FA Cup with a thrilling 4-3 comeback win against Bolton Wanderers.

It's often referred to as the Matthews Final - but there's so much more to the story than one man's genius on the wing.

On this day in 1988...

Luton Town completed a remarkable turnaround in the League Cup Final in a truly chaotic end to the game.

A saved penalty and two late goals in the final ten minutes shellshocked holders Arsenal, as the Hatters clinched their first major trophy.

Many happy returns today to England and Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce.

Undoubtedly one of the country's greatest ever left-backs.

Just one of the thousands of scarves left as tribute to those who lost their lives at Hillsborough in 1989.

They will never be forgotten. 🙏

Born on this day, arguably the greatest centre-half this country has produced: Bobby Moore.

The only England captain to have lifted this. 🏆

So England's senior side has never played Latvia... but the Lionesses have.

In 2021, Sarina Wingman's team hosted a Latvian side comprised of young amateurs.

Hemp scored four and Russo, White and Mead all bagged hat-tricks in a resounding 20-0 win: the largest in Lionesses history.

Born on this day, one of the game's great characters: Brian Howard Clough.

Did you know that prior to his highly successful management career, Brian was a prolific striker with Middlesbrough and Sunderland?

On this day in 1966, the Jules Rimet Trophy was stolen (for the first time) 😱

Thieves took it from a stamp exhibition at Westminster Central Hall, sneaking in and out via the back entrance.

The FA's clandestine replica is safely under lock and key on our Match Gallery.

Where's this headed today: Liverpool or Newcastle? 🏆

(this one's our official replica, so technically it's going nowhere)

At least a repeat of this is still on the cards 🤞

(or the 2006 final but we don't want a repeat of that one)

This match programme is from the very first game staged at Old Trafford, just over 115 years ago.

We'll be sure to pick up a programme from the very last one, too. 😞

"You have to say that's magnificent." 🎙

Barry Davies' first and last Match of the Day commentaries took place at Selhurst Park...

...so it seemed only fitting for Barry to be inducted into our Hall of Fame at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Many happy returns to Kenny Dalglish, one of Liverpool's greatest. 👑

In this 1982 edition of Topical Times, he was described as having a perfect attitude and high football IQ.

Former Celtic teammate Danny McGrain claimed he was "four times better than Keegan".
