No gov is going to join the EU without a ref, but the Norwegian arrangement would be enough to start with.

I don't underplay us, but I cannot see us joining again for a long time. I voted remain and would again and I lost nothing. Have EU passport so do my family. My son 23 now lives in Majorca with his Spanish girlfriend. It makes me angry that other young people will not have that opportunity.

The issue is country's being reciprocal, Someone coming to this country where thier state to not increase there pension can become a burden on us. As for NI is only a measure of how many years contribution, it never covers the cost of a state pension.

No statesmanship in this country, and what value would we add to the EU . I travel the EU and in comparison we have become a broken wreck. Not sure but I think other member states will see the UK as a hindrance than a help. Would want us to join tomorrow but I fear it will not happen in my lifetime

That is correct, but when we joined there was only nine member states, when we left the EU was going to crash other countries would follow. None has happened. 27 members are not going to be as generous, why would they.

It's simple, if we rejoined the EU we would join as a weaker nation, our previous membership was as a strong nation. There would have to be a ref 🙄 loose the £ accept freedom of movement have less benefits. No political party has the guts to try and sell that to the British public.
