As a life long pirate who just quietly does my thing it's been so odd seeing in the past few years people get an ego about pirating. Preservation efforts becoming more well known just made everyone think they're selfless heroes doing you a favor for pirating any new release

I saw some defending the video with the logic of "yeah but why was it popular on 4chan?!", in the sense of that they forgot or weren't aware that it was just a website years ago instead of as you say became more and more politically polarized as years passed.
