Earlier this week Chris Lindgren, the new Executive Director of Wilmette Park District, and Margaret Resnick, the Interim Executive Director of Wilmette Park District, visited New Trier Township. We discussed ways that the Township and Park District can collaborate moving forward.

We had a great time at the Winnetka Fourth of July Parade last Friday! It was nice seeing the community get together in celebration of Independence Day. We also handed out milkweed seed packets to parade attendees to help monarch butterflies thrive in New Trier Township!

Happy 4th of July! New Trier Township will be closed on Friday, July 4th and will reopen on Monday, July 7th. We will be marching in the Winnetka Fourth of July Parade, and we hope to see you there!

This month we are providing all of our pantry clients with a bag of sunscreen and bug spray to help them stay healthy this summer! These products will help our clients enjoy the outdoors without worrying about sunburns or bug bites including West Nile virus.

New Trier Township's Office is a cooling center! As the temperatures rise this summer, our office is available if you need a place to cool off. We are open as a cooling center during our office hours of Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.

Trustee Kate Casale MacNally and her daughter visited and donated to our Little Free Pantry at the Winnetka Public Library! The Little Free Pantry operates on a "give what you can, take what you need" model and is always accepting donations.

Last week we had our first Mental Health Nature Walk in collaboration with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County! We walked along the paths of the North Branch Trail System and improved our mental health by enjoying the nature of the Skokie Lagoons. Stay tuned for upcoming event dates!
