The first time I saw Kuromaru, was when YouTube first took off. I fell in love with the character ever since then, even though he was fucking unwilling women at the time. The Kuromaru character is much older than you think and he is based on a even older character Japanese character.

It depends on each particular monster. Ganon used his powerful magic to corrupt the monsters in Hyrule, especially in The Dark World.
When it comes to LikeLikes, they are naturally predatory where it eats Link's items and clothes, and tastes his body.
