I loved Let's Go Pikachu and have such fond memories of setting up my switch on its dumb barely functional little kickstand in my car playing with this pokeball between classes.

Ha. Yeah, same. I wonder if Balatro-likes (or whatever history decides to call them) will stick around or go out of vogue. At least it is sort of popularizing the arcade style xbox live arcade esque game again.

Its actually so forward and over the top that its funny to see in a Nintendo game.

Basically it has always bothered me that on console we use analog stick to look around which sucks slightly and on PC we use WASD to move our character which sucks slightly. Just combine the best of both

Like honestly ive been counting down the days until nintendo graces us with the control scheme of my dreams which is left joycon using analog stick for moving a 3d person character and right joycon used as a mouse to aim the characters viewpoint. Kid icarus feels like a good choice for it.

Click, drag, release, click is what I was envisioning. Though with regular mouse aiming as an option they may just remove that sort of flicking camera movement entirely. Which would be a shame but also still a very tactile and accurate control scheme compared to dual analog sticks.

Oh I guess I sort of assume it would be a heavy joycon mouse game. Probably just worse controls if you dont use the mouse.

Thats like a Yoshi's Island or Kirby Superstar slot. A slot for the alltime best of a genre that wont be in the top 10.

Omg ok side rant about this game is how like 80% of the levels keep you under that level of size... I love We Love Katamari too but I feel like there was a better balance struck between get big and collect the theme objectives.

Woah does this game get a Nitro Rad thumbs up? It seemed not to get a ton of coverage, I thought maybe it was The Medium-tier Bloober and I'd have to wait for Silent Hill 1R.

I really do wish that last portion was how the rest of the game also worked though. I was impressed with that part but the rest of the game didnt really do a ton for me.

Oh totally. Nevermind building character even, it just builds an attachment to that pokemon itself. You spend that long trying to catch Chansey or Taurus or Dratini in the safari zone, you'll feel more like trying them on the squad than the Nidorans you had to sift through on the way.

Oh wow youre like... REALLY completing the game. I respect it lol. Well, if it was a normal game you'd check a school level around the gym. But in Katamari P.E. kid might be at the top of a stack of carefully balanced mushrooms so who knows. 🤣
