My 4” story…..
In a cold field full of snow, my Father and the 99th infantry were entrenched and in a fire fight with a Nazi battalion. As the Sargent was running past my Dad he noticed that his white cover (snow camo) was bright red on the back. My Dad was shot.. 4” from his heart.
