Not a season 1 to season 2, but both new Dexter series’s, New Blood and Original Sin, are awful. Original Sin possibly being the worst show ever made. And I remember Dexter being really good… but maybe I’m misremembering it.

Had never really listened to the middle of that song. Didn’t realize how fucking weird the synth gets. Understand a little better why @jackob1.bsky.social was so passionate about his hatred for it.

Also, during the gun fight when they tried to turn Jack Ryan into John McClane, talking to himself crawling through a small space was just awful. Did not work for me.

…maybe I would have been onboard. Even so, just blow the sub up. “But the US needs this technology the catch up with the Soviets.” Literally the first US sub the Red October went by figured out how to track it. Didn’t actually make it an “invisible submarine.”

There were no stakes for me. Was the viewer not supposed to think Sean Connery was defecting the whole time. From the get-go I was just like, “Yup, Sean Connery good guy. He’s defecting.” But had I been unsure of his intentions, thought there was a chance he was going to launch the nukes…
